Portugal Mexico Confederations Cup
The winners of Euro 2016 have looked strong in the tournament and we think they should overcome their South American opponents in Kazan

In the three matches that Portugal have played, Cristiano Ronaldo has been named as the man of the match in all three, with the Real Madrid forward proving vital to his side once more.

The 32-year-old has put speculation about his future to one side, in his own mind at least, with his goals and assists helping the European champions comfortably progress as winners of Group A.

In the semi-finals, they face a Chile side who have failed to really spark to life in the tournament with the opening 30 minutes of their 1-1 draw with Germany the only time they have really impressed.

Playing their fourth summer tournament in a row with practically the same group of players, there is a possibility that some of the La Roja footballers are fatigued and their showing in the 1-1 draw against Australia on Sunday was certainly underwhelming.

The Copa America holders are priced at 11/5 (3.20) with bet365 to win in 90 minutes, while Portugal can be backed at 6/4 (2.50) and the draw is offered at 9/4 (3.25). The price for them to win should attract some attention and, of the two sides, it seems clear that Fernando Santos' men are in better shape at the moment.

Chile, however, always look dangerous going forward and they tend to begin matches with a pressing and intensity that certainly caused Germany some problems.

The South Americans have scored in each of their seven last matches, while Portugal are on a 10-match scoring run meaning the odds of 9/10 (1.90) for both sides to score are hard to ignore.

Bolder punters could also be tempted by the price of 9/2 (5.50) for Portugal to win - albeit while conceding - which looks appealing, while backing the Euro 2016 winners to score in the second half at 4/5 (1.80)  is also worthy of consideration. As mentioned previously, Chile looked a little weary in their last game, meaning they could be vulnerable as the match wears on.

Portugal to win and both teams to score at 9/2 (5.50) for a 1pt stake with bet365
