Philip Asuquo wants Yobe Stars players to remain focused

Yobe Desert Stars’ Philip Asuquo has tasked his teammates to put behind them their unlucky loss to Kwara United and be fully focused for subsequent games.

The Damaturu side were beaten 2-1 by the Harmony Boys in a league tie they should have won and Asuquo who featured in the encounter disclosed that beating the Olukoya Boys will help them forget about their unimpressive results of the last three games.

“It was unfortunate that we lost to Kwara United because we least we should have got from that game should be a draw but we cannot continue to cry over what transpired in Ilorin with another game with MFM next,” Asuquo told Goal.

“We are going to do our best to ensure that we win the game. MFM are a tough side but we are in need of a win to halt our unimpressive results of the last three matches.

“The coaches have been telling us to be focused on the game at hand and we have equally told ourselves that only a home victory will be ideal for us at the level we are. We are unanimous and we know that victory will be ours without any compromise.”

The former Shooting Stars and Gombe United striker has scored a goal for Mohammed Babaganaru’s led side in their debut campaign in the top-flight.
