The Naze Millionaires attacker says they are determined to fight for their drop zone survival until the end of the season

Heartland’s Fortune Omoniwari feels they still have a chance to survive the relegation zone at the end of the season despite their latest setback against Enyimba.

The Naze Millionaires were held to a goalless draw by the People's Elephant at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri on Wednesday in a rescheduled league tie and the attacker expressed that they were unfortunate not to have sealed the maximum points against Enyimba who were lucky to survive their onslaught.

He said he and his teammates came out with the determination to secure the three points at stake but that they could not explain why none of their first-half opportunities was converted but that they do not want to surrender yet with lots of matches still to be played.

“It was another bad day for us but this time around we played very well and deserved to pick the three points but we were unlucky throughout the encounter,” Omoniwari told Goal.

“We were the better side in the first half while we also beat them to the ball possession in the second half but goals refused to come and there was nothing we could about it. We will keep on working harder to ensure that we correct all the lapses noticed before the league resumes again after the World Cup when we would have rested well enough.”

“We cannot just give up like that just yet. We have the players now and I believe the new players will have blended with the old ones by the time we return from the World Cup break. We are determined to fight until the end to salvage our premier league season.”
