Okocha, Boateng set for Eintracht Frankfurt return in Ronaldinho’s farewell tour

Nigeria legend Jay-Jay Okocha and Sassuolo midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng are set to return to German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt for the first round of Ronaldinho’s farewell tour on November 17.

The former Barcelona and AC Milan star announced his retirement from football in January and he has arranged a tour of charity games across the globe to help less-privileged children as part of the event to celebrate an illustrious career.

The testimonial match will be between Ronaldinho & Friends and Adler All-Stars - a Frankfurt team that will include Okocha, Boateng, Marco Russ, Oka Nikolov among others at the Commerzbank-Arena - the stadium where he won his last major international title when Brazil lifted the 2005 Fifa Confederations Cup.

Ronaldinho's team will feature himself and a host of present and former Bundesliga stars including Bayern Munich defender Rafinha, Lukas Podolski, Torsten Frings and more.

"It's a wonderful stadium and it was a great achievement – the only bad thing was the weather," Ronaldinho told Bundesliga website.

"I'm delighted that my game will take place in Frankfurt and that we can help disadvantaged children all over the world."

It will be a homecoming encounter for Okocha who spent four years with the Frankfurt outfit where he scored 16 goals in 90 appearances before moving to Fenerbahce in 1996. Also for Boateng who left the Eagles for the Italian Serie A after helping them to the German Cup triumph last campaign.

The Ghana international played alongside Ronaldinho at AC Milan while Okocha was his teammate at PSG.
