Odeyemi apologises for missed chances against Katsina United

Niger Tornadoes' Ebenezer Odeyemi has apologised for failing to make his chances count in the 1-1 NPFL draw with Katsina United.

The forward was gifted with several scoring chances but failed to convert any at the Confluence Stadium and was heavily criticised for his unimpressive show by fans.

The result left the Ikon Allah boys recording their second home draw in three straight matches, leaving them in a relegation position of 18th with six points from six matches so far.

And unhappy Odeyemi pledged to step up in subsequent matches, especially against Remo Stars in Wednesday’s week seven clash in Sagamu.

"We had so many scoring opportunities, we did not convert them,” Odeyemi told media.

"Our opponents, however took the lead and as such we put ourselves under unnecessary pressure by playing catch up game.

“Thank God we did equalize and salvaged a point out of the encounter. Therefore, I want to apologize to our followers that we are not going to throw away the chances that come our way.

“Am trying to be a professional, I just have to put the Katsina game behind me, it has come and gone. We took the game lightly and full with over confidence that we will win.

“As a unit we have resolved to take on any game as if we playing in a final of any tournament, we must treat all teams equal, no more underrating.”
