Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic says their upcoming clash with Horoya AC is like a Caf Champions League final.

The Buccaneers are scheduled to face the Guinean giants in their last Champions League Group B match on Saturday.

Micho reflected on Bucs' group stage campaign which saw them start well, but they have since failed to win their last three matches.

“I must say we started [the campaign] very well until the fourth match [against Esperance] when we went to Tunisia, and we started the last game [against Platinum] with a mad desire to win, but you know football is not a walk in the park,” Sredojevic told the media.

Pirates are currently placed third on the Group B standings - a point behind second-placed Horoya, while the leaders Esperance have already booked their place in the quarter-finals as group winners.

“We wanted to win and wanted the three points that would guarantee us passage to the next round of the competition, needing only a draw against Horoya," he continued.

Bucs need a victory to secure their place in the quarter-finals with their South African rivals Mamelodi Sundowns having already qualified for the last eight.

“But in the same moment, it’s an early Caf Champions League final for Orlando Pirates, which will be played at the 28 September Stadium in Conakry," he added.

“We’re going without any calculation, knowing clearly what is needed to take us through and what eliminates us, so it’s a chance to grow as a team," Sredojevic explained.

“Because even against FC Platinum we learnt a great lesson on how to grow from being 2-0 down to not giving up and fighting back to show the character of this great club," he concluded.
