Orlando Pirates head coach Micho Sredojevic remains hopeful that his side will win a trophy this season.
The Soweto giants have been inconsistent in the current campaign which has seen them lose out on the season’s first cup competition, the MTN8.
“In everything that we go into, we have the highest possible ambitions to go all the way and win it,” Sredojevic said on IOL .
“That is the identity of the club which I am currently blessed to be the head coach of. All of us as the technical team and players, together with the support of the management and supporters, we are working very hard to achieve what we are looking for," he continued.
Micho guided the Buccaneers to a top two finish in the PSL last season and they qualified for the Caf Champions League which will start next month.
"Last year, we had the so-called ‘soul-healing sessions’ and this season we want to do everything possible to ‘feed the souls’," he explained.
The Buccaneers were pitted against Chippa United in the 2018 Telkom Knockout Cup Last 16 earlier this week.
“We want to give respect to Chippa United. We should also give respect to ourselves and the game of football," Sredojevic added.
The Serbian tactician stressed that his charges cannot afford to slip up against the Chilli Boys, who are under the guidance of former Pirates head coach Eric Tinker.
"This match really demands our focus. In a cup competition, you have no right to have any slip hence we will pay attention to every detail so that we can proceed to the next round," he concluded.
The encounter between Pirates and Chippa will be played at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto on October 21.
