Meddie Kagere ready to extend stay at Gor Mahia

Meddie Kagere is ready to extend his stay with the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia.

Kagere, who is set to run out of contract at the end of June, said he is willing to listen to an offer by Gor Mahia even as Yanga and Simba monitors the situation from a safe distance.

"l signed a short-term contract with Gor Mahia but l am ready to listen to what will be offered for me to extend my stay. Talks should be on and if we agree on terms, l will definitely stay and continue doing what l do best,” he said.

This comes amidst reports that Tanzanian giants Yanaga and Simba and both salivating for Kagere’s signature.

Kagere is currently leading Gor Mahia's league scoring chart with eight goals.

“As a forward player, my work is to score goals. It’s just a blessing and all happens with the help of my teammates,” said the striker who was also the top scorer in the just concluded Super Cup tournament told the club website.

“l can’t really set or say I have a target on goals to score… I always see game by game and the rest I leave it to God.”
