Mbwana Samatta scored a hat-trick in Genk’s 4-0 thumping of Zulte-Waregem in Saturday’s Belgian First Division A tie.
The 25-year-old took his tally for the season to 13 in all competitions this season to help the Blue-White clinch their seventh win in the league.
Alejandro Pozuelo got the curtain raiser in the 29th minute before Samatta doubled the lead two minutes later.
The former TP Mazembe forward notched the third goal of the encounter in the 68th minute and completed his treble 18 minutes after.
Samatta featured for the entire duration of the game as Philippe Clement’s men nicked the top spot in the log with 23 points from nine games.
Genk clash with Sarpsborg in Thursday’s Uefa Europa League game and the forward who has seven goals in the competition will hope to continue the impressive form.
