Maybank launches “Maybank TREATS SG Lifestyle” mobile app and Football Fan gamification

Maybank Singapore has launched the “Maybank TREATS SG Lifestyle” mobile application to enable credit and debit card members to redeem rewards instantly in an e-coupon wallet as well as receive real-time notifications on promotions, privileges and flash deals.

Notably the aim of this initiative is geared towards boosting customer engagement on digital platforms. Moreover Maybank is not here stopping with regards to its digital expansion, deals. In a first, Maybank has partnered with Manchester United Football Club to introduce a competitive “Football Fan” gamification element within the mobile app, offering top scorers a chance to win attractive prizes.

On the other hand, card members can now browse the Rewards Catalogue in “Maybank TREATS SG Lifestyle”app anytime and use their TREATS Points to redeem their favourite item on the go. The rewards range from air miles to branded merchandise, with over 200 rewards for selection. They will also receive deal alerts, including coffee giveaway and S$1 flash deals, which can be redeemed by presenting e-coupons at various cashier points. New card applications can also be made through the app.

Card members not only get access to good deals on the app, but also get to try their hand at scoring goals in the “Maybank Football Fan” gamification which was conceptualised in partnership with the Manchester United Football Club. Players can test their skills at the virtual training ground and stadium, or answer a few trivia questions to earn game credits.

To add fun to the game, card members can upgrade the soccer balls in-game for better gameplay, dress up the game avatar with jerseys and purchase powerful boots for better performance with the game credits earned. The public can access and play the basic level of “Maybank Football Fan”, while the competitive level and in-app privileges are exclusive to Maybank card members. Maybank Manchester United Card members in Singapore and Malaysia are eligible to compete in the “Shot at the Title” leaderboard where top players stand a chance to win attractive prizes every season. For the current season till 2 September 2018, the grand prize winner will win a trip for two to watch their favourite football club Manchester United in action at Old Trafford. The travel grand prize includes flight tickets and accommodation.

The new mobile application is designed to deliver real-time fulfilment, marketing communications and rewards redemption to loyal card members. Maybank card members are able to view deals and rewards anytime anywhere, and redemption can be done instantly.

In-app services for card members include: –

Maybank Football Fan App

Introducing “Maybank Football Fan”, an exciting real-time competitive gamification ap plication co-branded by Maybank (Singapore and Malaysia) and Manchester United Football Club. Maybank  card members from Singapore and Malaysia can compete against each other for the top spot on the leaderboard.

The game uses football elements to provide a platform for Maybank to bring the fans closer to the game and to their beloved club, Manchester United FC. Test your skills at the virtual training ground and stadium, or answer a few trivia questions to earn some game credits.

How does it work:

1. Download Football Fan App

Access the game through Maybank TREATS SG Lifestyle app or download it directly from Google Play Store or Apple iTunes. The customer is required to provide User Name, Mobile Number and Email Address to sign up. Requirement: Android (OS version 5 and above) or Apple iOS (OS version 8 and above).

2. Play The Game – Training Ground

Public can play the game in training stage without any card information required.

3. Play The Game – Competition mode “Shot at the Title”

a. Only Maybank card members are allowed to enter the competition mode; and

b. Validation will be performed via Maybank Card PIN (first 6 digits).

1. Customers to register for the competition with their Maybank
Card PIN (first 6 digits).
2. Customers can use their Maybank Cards to purchase in-game
“power ups” or “boosters”.
3. At the end of the competition period (00:00:00hrs on 3
September - the midnight of 2 September) the top player
registered on the leaderboard will win the Grand Prize and the
remaining Top 14 players will receive Manchester United
merchandises as bonus prizes. Each winner of this competition
must hold a Maybank Manchester United Card (Credit/ Debit/
prepaid).

 4. The Grand Prize is a trip for two to watch Manchester United
LIVE at Old Trafford, inclusive of flight tickets and accommodation.
