Premier League leaders Manchester City face Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers in the last 16 of the League Cup at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

Both teams come into this match in fine form and the stage is set for a cracking cup clash, with both teams in buoyant mood following weekend wins against Burnley and Preston North End respectively.

City made it 11 successive victories in all competitions by beating the Clarets 3-0 on Saturday afternoon; the men from Manchester have now scored 20 goals in their last four domestic matches on home soil and, as such, it is little wonder that Betsafe make Pep Guardiola's charges their 13/100 (1.13) favourites to reach the last eight of the competition inside 90 minutes.

Wolves, though, will travel without trepidation, for Nuno Espírito Santo's side have been beaten in just one of their last 11 matches in all competitions and the men from Molineux maintained their advantage at the top of the Championship table with a 3-2 win against Alex Neil's men on Saturday afternoon.

Wolves enjoyed an impressive run to the FA Cup fifth round last term - a campaign that included impressive away wins against both Stoke City and Liverpool - while Santo's side knocked Southampton out of this competition at St Mary's back in August.

The Championship leaders, though, could find the significant step up in class difficult to bridge here and it is perhaps indicative of the scale of the challenge facing Wolves that Betsafe offer 33/2 (17.50) that the visitors claim a famous victory in normal time, while the same firm go 89/10 (9.90) that Santo's side take the tie to extra time.

With both teams in fine form, Betsafe offer 79/100 (1.79) that there are goals in both ends – a selection that may prove popular; those anticipating a dramatic second half may be tempted by Betsafe's 22/25 (1.88) quote for most of the scoring to come after the break.

City's defensive discipline, however, has been every bit as impressive as their attacking verve so far this season; Guardiola's men have managed seven clean sheets in their last 10 matches in all competitions and are an even money (2.0) chance with Betsafe to shut out Santo's side here - especially given that Santo has opted to field a second string side in both of their matches in the competition thus far this term.

Guardiola, too, is expected to heavily rotate his starting line-up, with the League Cup low on his side's list of priorities, but City should still prove to be too strong; as such, Betsafe’s 53/50 (2.06) quote for Manchester City to win without conceding could offer good value for punters ahead of this cup clash.
