The Reds can continue their fine recent run of form with a convincing victory against the out-of-sorts Saints at Anfield on Saturday afternoon

Liverpool will be aiming for a fourth successive victory in all competitions when they face Southampton at Anfield on Saturday.

After Jurgen Klopp's side were thumped 4-1 by Tottenham Hotspur last month, they had won just two of 10 matches in all competitions, but since then the Reds' response has been superb as the men from Merseyside chalked up back-to-back 3-0 home wins against Huddersfield Town and Maribor respectively, before bagging an impressive 4-1 victory against West Ham United at London Stadium before the international break.

It is no surprise, therefore, that Klopp's charges are as short as 2/5 (1.40) with Paddy Power to maintain momentum with victory against the stuttering Saints.

Mauricio Pellegrino's team have rarely found their rhythm this season - winning just one of their last six matches in all competitions - and Paddy Power go 7/1 (8.0) that they come out on top in this clash, whilst the same firm offer  7/2 (4.50) that the Saints claim a share of the spoils on their visit to Anfield.

Saints, though, have struggled in front of goal this season and it is questionable whether Pellegrino's team have the necessary firepower to go toe-to-toe with Liverpool; indeed, Southampton have managed more than a single goal in just one of their last 10 matches and Paddy Power offer a chunky 3/1 (4.0) that the visitors score two or more goals in this game.

Liverpool's defensive qualities have been called into question on a number of occasions this season, but the Reds have kept a clean sheet in four of their last six matches at Anfield and Paddy Power go 11/10 (2.10) that the hosts keep the Saints at bay, while the same firm offer a tempting 7/5 (2.40) that Liverpool win to nil on Merseyside.

Southampton have managed to score in each of their last three fixtures on their travels and Paddy Power offer 5/2 (3.50) that Southampton grab the opening goal of this game, with the quote of  8/11 (1.72) that both teams are on target also tempting.

Liverpool have scored 21 goals in the Premier League so far this season - only Manchester City and Manchester United have managed more - and by contrast, Southampton have scored just nine league goals so it seems fair to suggest that a goal-laden encounter would likely favour Klopp's men; indeed, value may lie in Paddy Power's 15/8 (2.88) quote for Liverpool to win a game in which both teams score.

It is Liverpool's quality in the final third that should make them too strong for Southampton on Saturday and the 13/8 (2.63) quote for the Reds to score three or more goals is not without its appeal, but more tempting is Paddy Power's generous 11/10 (2.10) quote for Liverpool to win by at least two clear goals.

That particular play would have paid dividends in six of Liverpool's last seven wins and it could offer punters a path to profit once again this weekend.
