Lee Tuck gives Terengganu the advantage

The first of the 2018 Malaysia Cup quarterfinals fixtures is done and Terengganu take the lead against Felda going into a home second leg tie.

The knockout stage of the Malaysia Cup is finally underway and with four first leg matches spread out over five days as Terengganu FC became the first team to win in this season's quarterfinal stage after a 1-2 victory over Felda United at Tun Abdul Razak Stadium.

Irfan Bakti's men who finished top of Group A to reach this stage, took a first half lead through Nazrullah Hanif but saw Felda fought back into the game with a Gilberto Fortunato equaliser in the second half.

Just when B. Sathianathan thought his team has escaped a defeat and have managed to keep the tie in balance, they conceded a late penalty to the away side. Lee Tuck step up to confidently dispatched the spot kick to give his side the win.

The return leg will take place on Friday 28 September where Terengganu will play host at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium.

Three other fixtures are to take place over the next few days starting with Kelantan v Sabah (Sept 22), Pahang v Johor Darul Ta'zim (Sept 23) and Perak v PKNS FC (Sept 25).
