Sofapaka and AFC Leopards are locked in a battle to sign Mali international keeper Ibrahim Traore, Goal understands.

The 23-year old keeper is currently a free agent after his contract with top Nigerian club Ifeanyi Ubah expired. He has also enjoyed stint in Ethiopia at St Georges. Traore was part of the Mali U-20 national team which finished third at the Fifa Youth World Cup in New Zealand in 2015.

He is a tall custodian, with great agility and a renowned shot stopper. Meanwhile, Sofapaka and Leopards are said to be keen on bolstering their goalkeeping department for different reasons and have commenced negotiations.

The Batoto Ba Mungu  technical team are said to be unconvinced with the recent performances of Wyclife Kasaya while Ugandan Mathias Kigonya has since been released. On their part, AFC Leopards are looking to provide competition for youngster Ezekiel Owade.
