Khama Billiat: I will leave Kaizer Chiefs for Europe when the time is right

Billiat downplayed his immense contribution since joining the Glamour Boys, but he is still hoping to go to Europe in the near future

Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khama Billiat has revealed that he hasn't given up on his dream to one day move to Europe.

The 28-year-old has been in scintillating form for Amakhosi this season, and his coach, Giovanni Solinas, has consistently mentioned that Billiat doesn't deserve to playing in the PSL

Billiat scooped the Player of the Month award for September earlier this week, sending a strong message to his peers that he's one of the best players in the league right now.

"Every player wants to play in Europe, and it can only happen when you deserve it. I don't think I have done enough," Billiat told the media.

The Zimbabwe international admits that he's always striving to be a better player, before adding that he will move abroad when the time is right.

"I always want to be better and improve. God's time is the time. So, if I haven't been there it means it wasn't the right time. The time will come," said Billiat.

Solinas has had nothing but praise for Billiat, and the former Sundowns man said he considers himself fortunate to be working with the Italian mentor.

"I am very fortunate to have a coach like him but it's about the team. I don't see it as something special [in coach praising him], he is always like that. I am grateful for the love he has for me. I love him too. I love the relationship we have," he concluded.

Billiat has directly been involved in nine goals in his 12 matches for Amakhosi - five goals and four assists.

He will be eager to improve on this tally as the season progresses, but one thing for sure is that Billiat is an early contender for the Player of the Season award.
