Kedah stays with JDT but Melaka and Penang continue to struggle

Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) took a significant step towards retaining their Super League title after a massive 2-0 away win against Pahang on Tuesday night. It was one of six matches played and Goal runs through all the action of Round 15.

At the Hang Jebat Stadium, Kedah edged Melaka United - coming back twice to not only draw level but to eventually win the game 4-2. It was 2-2 at half time after Marco Simic scored twice but found his side pegged back each time by Baddrol Baktiar. Akram Mahinan scored a rare goal to put Kedah ahead before and injury time goal by Asri Mardzuki seal an important victory for Nidzam Adzha's boys. The Red Eagles are now the closest challenger to JDT, sitting on nine points behind the league leaders.

Over in Ipoh, Selangor earned all three points against Perak after the won the match at Perak Stadium with a 1-0 margin. Francis Forkey Doe emerged the hero for the Red Giants as they snapped Perak's run of three consecutive wins. The win also allowed P. Maniam's team to overtake their opponent in the league standing, taking them to fourth spot in the table. The keenly-fought affair also saw Selangor playing the last half an hour of the match with a player less after Andik Vermansah was shown a red card.

In Kuala Terengganu, T-Team bounced back from their defeat to Selangor in the last round of matches, to hand Kelantan a 3-1 beating at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium. The win saw them switch places with Kelantan, moving up to 7th in the table. In a match between the two teams with points deductions, Rahmad Darmawan's side turned the game around in the final 10 minutes of the match when Dilshod Sharofetdinov, Fauzi Kadar and Joseph Ndjeng scored to cancel out Khairul Izuan's opener for the Red Warriors.

PKNS FC

PKNS took a giant step towards avoiding the drop to Premier League next season after they clinched a 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Penang at Batu Kawan's State Stadium. Caretaker Adam Abdullah saw his team win through second half goals from Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh and Abdou Jammeh. The defeat sees Penang stay rooted at the foot of the table and they may start to resign to the fact that they would be plying their trade in the lower division next season as they sit eight points off safety with only seven more matches remaining.

Felda United continued their recent run of good form, notching their fifth win in six matches in all competitons. Thiago Augusto struck a hat trick as they condemned Sarawak to a 3-1 home defeat at Kuching's State Stadium. Alif Hassan scored a late consolation goal for the Crocs as dropped to 10th in the table but helped by defeats to relegation candidates in Melaka and Penang. B. Sathianathan's remarkable progress with Felda has seen them close the gap to the top and could well finish as high as 2nd if things go their way.

Last but not least, at the Darul Makmur Stadium - JDT performed an opening and closing act on Pahang to inflict a 2-0 defeat on the Elephants. Gonzalo Cabrera scored with just two minutes on the clock and the win was rounded off by Natxo Insa's goal just four minutes from the end of normal time. Dollah Salleh's men tried but found the organisation of JDT's defence to hard to break down and this defeat all but confirmed their withdrawal from league title contention. As for the Southern Tigers, they only need a maximum of 14 points from the remaining seven league matches to secure a fourth consecutive league title.
