John Baraza: I was confident Sofapaka will beat Mathare United

Sofapaka coach John Baraza has revealed that he was confident they will beat Mathare United.

Batoto ba Mungu needed a late strike courtesy of Pistone Mutamba to beat the ‘Slum Boys’ 3-2 in a five goal thriller staged at Machakos Stadium.

Kepha Aswani and Elli Asieche were also on the score sheet for Sofapaka while Mathare United scored through Francis Omondi and Alhonse Ndonye.

Baraza has now said that he side was prepared well for the game and that he expected to win. “We knew that they were a strong team, had topped the KPL log for a while, we prepared well for this game and I was confident we were going to win.

“My boys played according to instructions and in the end we got an important win, our focus now shifts to the match against Sony Sugar.”

Sofapaka, who are now second on the log behind leaders Gor Mahia, will face Sony Sugar in their next league match at Awendo this weekend.
