Indian Super League (ISL) outfit Kerala Blasters have signed midfielder Jeakson Singh from Minerva Punjab, Goal can reveal. He was playing on loan for Indian Arrows from Minerva in the 2017-18 season.

However, he will be loaned back to the Arrows for the upcoming I-League season so that the youngster continues his development under coach Floyd Pinto.

The 17-year-old was one of the stars from India's U17 World Cup campaign and scored India's only goal in the tournament, a towering header against Colombia

The Manipur-born midfielder has led Minerva Punjab to AIFF U-15 & U-16 Youth League titles two years in a row and is one of the mainstays in midfield for All India Football Federation's (AIFF) developmental team.

Last season, he made eight appearances for the Arrows and will now be hoping to build on that before returning to Kerala.

"The FIFA U-17 World Cup last year in India has had a strong influence on Indian football with the quality of young players coming through," Kerala Blasters head coach David James had said recently.

The Men in Yellow have already signed one of Jeakson's teammates from the U17 World Cup side in goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem.
