Ghana and FK Austria Wien defender Kadiri Mohammed has revealed that he is currently working hard in order to regain a call-up to the Black Stars.

The 21-year-old got his debut invite under Avram Grant after helping Ashanti Gold to win the Ghana Premier League title in 2015 but has been overlooked by Kwesi Appiah as the former Khartoum manager continues with his rebuilding process ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Kadri has been one of the standout performers for Thorsten Fink's side in the Europa League.

“The Austrian league is a very competitive one and I thank the manager for reposing a lot of confidence in me by giving me games," Kadri told Class FM.

“I try to give off my best in every game since I want to make it very difficult for my club's manager and that of Ghana coach [Kwasi Appiah] to ignore my effort. I want to make selection difficult for them.

“I have big ambitions as a player and every matchday I give myself a fine opportunity to let the world know what I can also do. I want to prove something to everyone watching the game,” he added.

Kadri, who saw a red card last weekend against Wolfsberger AC in the Austria Bundesliga, has made 21 appearances in all competitions including 17 starts but he's yet to record his first goal of the campaign.
