Speaking on their match against Churchill, Bagan coach Sankarlal Chakraborty said, “We are not under any kind of pressure. We are only thinking about winning a tough match tomorrow against Churchill. There are several aspects of the opposition which are worrisome. All their five foreigners are very good and are playing very well. Their Indian players are also doing well. They are a dangerous side.
He continued, “All big clubs have the pressure to deliver. This happens all over the world. But I don’t want to bring that pressure into the team before the match.”
Chakraborty confirmed that Shilton Paul is fit to play but did not respond to whether Sony Norde will play full 90 minutes.
He said, “Shilton (Paul) is fit to play. I cannot say if Sony is fit to play for 90 minutes. Doctors can say about this.”
Churchill Brothers' Romanian coach Petre Gigiu has seen Bagan in action and wants to win three points in Kolkata which would propel them further in the top half of the table.
"We have played four games until now but the real test for my team lies now. Mohun Bagan are a very good team with great tradition. It will be a difficult game for both sides. I saw Mohun Bagan’s match against Real Kashmir. I know tomorrow will not be an easy game for us. We will try to play a good game. Generally I don’t like to lose. I like to fight for the first place and hopefully, I will be able to transfer my ideas to my players.”
On being asked about Sony Norde’s presence and if he has devised any special plans for him, Gigiu suggested, “We don’t think about only one player (Sony Norde). We are planning for the entire team.”
