Hoffenheim not risking Adams in Frankfurt clash despite injury return

TSG Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann has ruled Ghana defender Kasim Adams out of Sunday's Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt despite his return to first team training.

The center-back resumed practice this week, having been in the treatment room since picking up an injury in a league tie against Freiburg on September 1.

Die Kraichgauer are hoping to bounce back to winning ways against The Eagles following Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League.

"I'd like to think that the line-up will change," Nagelsmann said in his team news during a press conference on Friday.

"Steven Zuber and Nico Schulz are feeling better again, but both have a question mark over their heads.

"We'll have to see with Kevin Vogt, as to whether he trains again today.

"Havard Nordtveit and Adams are back in training but we do not want to take any risks with them.

"With Dennis Geiger, we are waiting for the day when he is free of any symptoms. He is scheduled to return to training next week."

Adams joined Hoffenheim during the summer transfer window, signing a five-year deal from Swiss side Young Boys.

He has made two league appearances in the German topflight so far.

The 23-year-old, who has been left out of Ghana's squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Sierra Leone later this month, was once on the books of Spanish side Real Mallorca and local club Medeama.
