The Amakhosi boss was left to rue his side's goalless stalemate against the Chilli Boys on Saturday evening

Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has lamented his side's goalless draw with  Chippa United  at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday evening.

It was frustrating game for Amakhosi who played the match behind closed doors, but they will now focus on their upcoming Fifa international break to rectify their errors.

“We were fighting and tried to win the game until the last second. We put in another striker as we tried to win the game, it was a difficult game and I am happy with the performance, but disappointed with the result because the three points is very important for us,” Solinas told SuperSport TV.

“Chippa also played well. It was a good game and our problem was fatigue for the guys and we also lost Mario (Booysen) in the first half,” he added.

“This was a problem for us and we had to add another player in the second half to refresh the team, but it is OK because it is football,” he responded.

The Italian mentor explained their tactical planning to use both full-backs, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Godfrey Walusimbi to help out in attack.

“Yes I like to see Rama and Walusimbi on the overlap because we use them like wingers. A lot of situations when Chippa parked the bus, we thought with our football, this was our moment to exploit the width,” he continued.

“We need balance in football and when you can't win the game, it's important to keep the balance and ensure we don't lose,” said Solinas.

“We had to keep our positioning and balance in terms of position because coming to the end of the game our guys were very tired,” responded the Italian-born coach.

“We need this Fifa break to recover our energy and exploit it in trying to improve. After the Fifa break we have the Soweto Derby and we will focus on the next game - we will try to prepare for the Derby,” he concluded.
