Ghana midfielder Isaac 'Opeley' Antah believes they will defeat Cameroon in the opening Group A game of the 2017 Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Gabon on Sunday.

The Black Starlets return to action in the competition for the first time since 2013 after Caf handed Ghana a two-year ban for age cheating.

"We arrived here in good spirit and we hope to maintain this up until the end of the tournament," Antah told Happy FM.

"The coaches have told us a lot about Cameroon but looking at the squad we have, I can assure Ghanaians that there's no way they will escape our wrath on Monday.

"We have prepared well for this tournament and it will be great to return home with the trophy," he added.

Ghana will play Guinea on May 17 before locking horns with host Gabon three days later and qualification to the semi-finals will guarantee the Black Starlets' qualification to the Fifa U17 World Cup which will be staged in India later this year.
