Ghana target Adjapong counting on KP Boateng to push Sassuolo's season ambitions

The 20-year-old believes the former AC Milan star will boost the Black and Greens' performance this term

Sassuolo full-back Claud Adjapong hopes the arrival of Kevin-Prince Boateng will help move the club to greater heights in the coming season.

The Ghana international is among the new faces in the camp of The Black and Greens following a transfer from German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this month.

He comes with a wealth of experience, having won the German Cup with The Eagles last season, in addition to a League Cup with English team Portsmouth in 2008 and an Italian Serie A title and a Super Cup gold while on the books of AC Milan

"He is a player who has had a great career," Adjapong, an Italian youth international of Ghanaian parentage, told Canale Sassuolo

"He has arrived in Sassuolo and I hope he can help because his story is clear.

"He won the Scudetto with Milan and played in very big teams."

Adjapong also spoke on Sassuolo's season ambitions.

"It's early to say, we still have to understand the mechanisms that the coach asks of us," the 20-year-old said.

"Then we'll see at the beginning of the season.

"We hope to bring on what we are learning with [manager Roberto] De Zerbi Sunday after Sunday.

Sassuolo are hoping to better their 11th finish in the new campaign.
