Next FMLLP congress could be D-Day for TMJ's resignation matter

Four days on from when the statement was first made, none are still wiser as to what will eventually happen with HRH Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and the position as the president of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) that he holds.

An apparent resignation statement was posted last Thursday but tidal waves of stay request has been released one after another, indicating their plea for Tunku Ismail not to discard the top footballing position in the country.

The Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) is expected to be held on March 25 and that is now seen as the deciding date when an outcome is expected from this matter.

"After the Crown Prince of Johor, Tunku Ismail (TMJ) stated his desire to let go of his FAM President position, until now we still have not found a solution and we are still discussing the matters with him. The FMLLP congress coming up will be the best opportunity to convince to TMJ to stay in the position.

"Electing a new chairman for FMLLP will also be done during the congress and I believe that all representatives will give their support to TMJ to continue to head both FMLLP and FAM. Even though the suggestion is that the new FMLLP chairman should be separated with FAM but at this points in time, there's no other individual that can replace TMJ for both positions."

"Until now there has been no official leftter from TMJ for the resignation and I believe that even if TMJ does so, the FAM executive committee will not agree to. We will reject the resignation because it's not only FAM but the entire Malaysian football that still requires the services of TMJ," he told Berita Harian.

That also seemingly ties in with the latest post on Johor Southern Tigers last night where it simply reads,"7 more days".
