MFM head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu is pleased with the overall contributions of his wards in their hard-earned goalless draw against Enugu Rangers .

The Olukoya Boys have been poor in their away matches in the league this campaign but they turned up a brilliant performance against the Flying Antelopes and Ilechukwu has duly commended his players for the feat.

“It was a good performance from my players who didn’t allow anything to distract them against Rangers and they played as if they were at home,” Ilechukwu told Goal.

“We have kicked on our season from this result and we expect this performance to be the yardstick to measure our remaining away league matches. We still believe that we can achieve a commendable performance at the end of the season irrespective of how we started the season.

“It has not been easy for us but with some of our distractions out of the way now, we can concentrate solely on the league and we shall see what that takes us to at the end of the season.”

The tactician is optimistic that the result can serve as the tonic that can turn their season around in spite of the challenges they have faced recently.

“The technical crew and the management have been doing their best to arrest the situation but it was unfortunate that we had to wait until now to get our first away point of the season,” he continued.

“We are going to do our best to continue from where we stopped against Rangers in our remaining away matches. We know that if we play very well, results will come in our favour. I want to thank the players and everyone in the club for a job well done in Enugu.

“We know that now that we have got the first away point so many clubs will be on the lookout for us. We must remain level-headed and prepare very well for the game with Tornadoes same way we did against Rangers and go with the mentality that we are going for an away win.

“I know that MFM will stage a comeback in a big way. We will continue to take our game one after the other and see what it takes us to at the end of the season,” he concluded.
