This was no ordinary phone call too. It was a video call. Furthermore, the call came from the President of South Africa himself, Cyril Ramaphosa.
The President wanted to tell the South African ladies national football team how proud he is that they've reached the Africa Women's Cup of Nations final.
He is also wishing them all the best against Nigeria this evening. You can watch the full message, thanks to Ramaphosa's Twitter here.
We've also included personal messages from South Africa's Olympics stars. Enjoy! Good luck to Banyana.
I had the pleasure of speaking to Banyana Banyana to congratulate them on their achievements and also wish them well as they battle Nigeria in the #AWCON2018 final. Let us rally behind our national team and give them all our support in bringing the cup home. They have been super. pic.twitter.com/9wQU5KbmKu— President Cyril Ramaphosa (@CyrilRamaphosa) December 1, 2018
