In his prime Marc Batchelor played for "the big four" in South Africa, which is Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows.

The late football player was a popular personality in the local game, and many football stars attended his funeral to also pay their respects to the Batchelor family.

Batchelor passed away on July 15, when he was shot in his car on his way home in Olivedale, Randburg. Police are still investigating the tragic incident.

There are videos from the funeral, mostly by journalist Mahlatse Mphahlele and Kaizer Chiefs communications officer Vina Maphosa.

Some of the many legends at the funeral were former Bafana Bafana players Mark Williams, Shaun Bartlett and Neil Tovey.

Marc Batchelor's brother, Warren gave an emotional speech on stage.

“Marc was no angel. In the past few years he lost his way. It was during this time that he pushed me away along with his close friends because of some stupid argument," Warren Batchelor said, as reported on IOL .

"We were planning to reconcile and then I got that call,” said a crying Warren Batchelor.

“The scene on Monday night was horrific. It broke me.

“Once they got him out the car I gave him a kiss and I knew I had my brother back… I could sit and say farewell, hamba kahle on your next journey my brother, because your demons are left behind.”

Marc Batchelor was buried in Johannesburg on Thursday.
