Dylan Kerr: Off pitch issues to blame for Gor Mahia’s recent poor run of results

Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has blamed off pitch issues as the main reason why the club performed badly in recent weeks.

The team has not been on its best form in the last two months where they were kicked out of the Caf Confederation Cup, Shield Cup and went on to lose back to back league matches for the first time this season.

Speaking after defeating Zoo Kericho on Thursday, coach Kerr said his team has learnt from the past mistakes. “It is all about professionalism from parties involved that is players and officials.

"The season went well but off pitch matters spoilt the party but again, it is a lesson for us. The most important thing is for us to fix the mistakes and ensure we do not repeat them again.

“It was a good win for us, we needed it and the spirit shown by the players was also good. You could see they were trying to help Tuyisenge, Jacques, win the golden boot, which is a good thing,” Kerr told Goal in an interview.

Gor Mahia will face Tusker in their final league match this season.
