Ulinzi Stars coach Dunstan Nyaudo has maintained that he will not rest key players against Gor Mahia on Wednesday.

The Soldiers will face the league champions just a few days before they take on Kariobangi Sharks in the semi-finals of the FKF Shield Cup.

Nyaudo now says both matches are very important for the club. “The Gor Mahia game will be an entertaining match, and a good one for us because Gor Mahia have nothing much to play for after winning the league, while we will be out to play for a better position so it will be an entertaining match.

“But of course the most important game in our schedule is the Sharks game. We have to be at our best for these matches because we are playing in very tight timelines and it is not easy. The players will be worn out but we have to do this because a lot of what we have done in the season will be hinged on these matches,” Nyaudo told the club website.

The coach also lauded the team for the hard fought win against a battling Wazito FC side. “We prepared for the whole week to play a tough team. Most importantly, we wanted to go for an early goal because we knew very well that being the relegation zone, they (Wazito) would come strongly.

"We wanted the goal then defend well knowing we have the advantage and we created some five good chances that we should have used.

“I am very satisfied with the result because I expected from Wazito more than they threw at us. They are a good side and I wish them the best in the remaining games.”
