The West Ham ace says victory for his side over the Blues will be a deserving gift for supporters of the Hammers

West Ham United attacker Andre Ayew has turned his attention to Monday's league clash with Chelsea, after rescuing a point for the Hammers last weekend.

The 27-year-old scored the equaliser in a 1-1 away draw with Watford, shortly after coming on as a second-half substitute.

The Ghanaian suffered a thigh injury on his West Ham debut against Chelsea in August last year.

"Hopefully everyone will be fit for Chelsea and we can give the supporters some joy," Ayew said, as reported by the Mirror.

“For me, it was important to score – it was my first game back after the African Cup of Nations, I will continue to work hard and hopefully I will score more goals to help the team.

“I am not far away from 100 per cent – I played every game for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations and showed I could cope with the pressure.

“It has been frustrating but sometimes football is a game where you have to be patient and keep believing in yourself."

Ayew has netted twice in 13 Premier League games since completing a move from Swansea City last summer.

West Ham sit ninth on the table ahead of Monday's fixture.
