Dan Sserunkuma has warned Gor Mahia ahead of the Cecafa Kagame Cup quarter-final clash with Ugandan champions Vipers SC.
K’Ogalo booked a date with the Ugandan representatives after finishing top of Group B on fair-play grounds owing to a yellow card less compared to Rayon Sports’ five, accumulated in the last three games.
This is after both sides, Gor Mahia and Rayon Sports finished their group games tied in all aspects after the final matches where K’Ogalo beat AS Port 2-0 with Rayon forcing a 3-1 victory against Lydia Ludic on Thursday.
Gor Mahia clash with Vipers will present Sserunkuma with a rare chance to play against his former side that he led to a league title in the 2014 season where he was the hit man and fans’ favourite.
The Ugandan striker said: “We are not afraid of anyone in the quarterfinals. We are not concerned who we get, we don’t mind. Am not afraid. I don’t think we have anything to fear from any side now.
“If you are in the quarters then you cannot be afraid of anyone. We feel we can beat any side on our day. I think we are a team who will cause problems to others.”
The 2014 Kenyan Premier League Golden Boot winner has two goals to his name so far at the tournament that is being staged in Tanzania.
The match will take place on Sunday at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
