Asante Kotoko coach Charles 'CK' Akonnor confessed that they struggled in Wednesday's Ghana Special Competition clash with Bechem United.
It was a hard-fought game as the Porcupines had to come from behind to snatch a 1-1 draw at home in Kumasi.
Prince Adu gave visiting Bechem the lead in the second minute before Abdul Fatawu Safiu netted his seventh goal of the campaign two minutes later.
"I'm not happy with the result," Akonnor said after the game.
"We could have won the match even though Bechem United took us by surprise in the early minutes of the game.
"I think they were very compact in the early minutes of the game. They pressed us very well. We struggled to come out of it.
"We were able to create chances but today wasn't good for us. We had a bad game.
"Kotoko have come to a level where we have to win every match and the fact that we drew today is a setback. But we'll continue to work hard to improve."
Despite the result, Kotoko still sit second in Zone A and trail leaders Medeama by five points.
The Porcupines return to action against fourth-placed Ashanti Gold on Sunday.
