Chennai City FC have roped in Spanish centre-forward Pedro Javier Manzi Cruz, for the upcoming I-League season. He last plied his trade with CE L’Hospitalet, a third-tier club in Spain. 

The club had earlier signed two Spanish players — Sandro Rodriguez Felipe (midfielder), and Roberto Eslava Suarez (defender). They are also in talks of signing another Spanish attacking midfielder, Goal can confirm. 

All these signings are being supervised by Jordi Vila, the new assistant coach of Chennai City. After a disappointing season, V Soundararajan was shown the door and Mohammed Akbar is currently the head coach of the side. 

It is also learnt that Edwin Sydney Vanspaul will not extend his stay with the Rohit Ramesh-owned club and is looking for fresh opportunities. 

Chennai City finished eighth in the league table with 17 points from 18 matches.
