The Porcupine Warriors will be participating in the continental showpiece for the first time since 2015

Asante Kotoko management member Yaw Boafo Esq believes the club will be successful in the 2018 Caf Confederations Cup.

The Kumasi giants defeated rivals Hearts of Oak 3-1 in the Ghana FA Cup to qualify for the continental showpiece after a three-year absence.

"We are not only aiming at just being participants in the Caf Confederation Cup but also to make a great impact and make Ghana proud," Boafo told Royal TV.

"We are happy to have won the FA Cup and that will offer us the platform to play in the Caf Confederation Cup where Kotoko belong. We will do our best to show that Ghana has one of the biggest clubs in Africa," he added.

Kotoko have given their players a three-week break while head coach Steve Pollack will leave Ghana to spend time with his family in Europe.

"Pollack will be going for holidays soon but before he leaves he will give us his wishlist and players he wants to offload. We need to plan early to do away with any disappointments," he said.

Aduana Stars won the Ghana Premier League title and will represent Ghana in the Caf Champions League.
