Former SuperSport United midfielder Cole Alexander is on the radar of several Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs, according to his agent.

The 28-year-old was recently released by Matsatsantsa during the January transfer window alongside others such as Togolese forward Dove Wome and Keegan Ritchie who has since joined Bidvest Wits after being deemed surplus to requirements by the Tshwane-based outfit. Subsequently, Alexander has been without a club since January, but reports now suggest that he could be closing in on a move to one of four PSL clubs.

According to Alexander’s agent Gary Cassisa, his client has no shortage of admirers having attracted the interest of Bloemfontein Celtic, Free State Stars, Platinum Stars and Bidvest Wits.

“Yes a few clubs have contacted me and been in the running to secure his signature. Probably the most anticipated signing right now. Free State Stars, Bloemfontein Celtic, Platinum Stars and Wits have all been in the running,” Cassisa told Phakaaathi.

Furthermore, Alexander’s agent states that his client has not been training with ay club, but that a deal could be struck in the coming days.

“He is not training with any club as he cannot afford to be injured without having signed a contract. He could sign before the end of the week,” Cassisa added.

The former Ajax Cape Town Academy graduate spent nearly 18 months at SuperSport where he made only a solitary league appearance in this campaign before being released.

Nonetheless, Alexander is a highly decorated player who during his time with SuperSport won many accolades which include one Nedbank Cup title, an MTN crown and was part of the squad who made history by finishing as runners up in the 2017 Caf Confederation Cup. Alexander also has some international experience to call upon as he was most recently part of Stuart Baxter’s Cosafa Cup squad.
