Luis Enrique has confirmed that he will be leaving the Camp Nou this summer and there are two leading candidates to replace him with the bookmakers

Following a 6-1 win over Sporting Gijon in La Liga, Luis Enrique has announced that he will not be extending his contract at Barcelona and the Catalan giants will be looking for a new boss this summer.

Leading the market to take over at 3/1 (4.0) is Jorge Sampaoli, the Argentine is currently in charge at Sevilla and the Europa League holders are not only making impressive strides in Europe but also domestically.

Sampaoli also had a successful time in charge of the Chilean national side, who memorably broke the hearts of Argentina, including Lionel Messi, in the 2015 Copa America final.

Not far behind him in the betting is Everton’s Ronald Koeman, a former Barcelona player, the 53-year-old is a 4/1 (5.0) shot to leave Merseyside for a Camp Nou return this summer although he has dismissed speculation about a potential departure in recent weeks.

A shock return for Pep Guardiola is priced at 7/1 (8.0) although that seems somewhat short given the project he is just a year into at Manchester City.

Thomas Tuchel is a 9/1 (10.0) chance to replace Enrique although given the German has no playing or managerial experience outside his native country and with Borussia Dortmund struggling to challenge the might of Bayern Munich domestically, there could be better candidates in the market at the current odds.

A longer price pick to consider could be Ernesto Valverde, another manager who spent time at Barcelona during his playing days, he is currently in charge of Athletic Bilbao and has won titles during his time at OIympiakos as well as leading Espanyol to the Uefa Cup final in 2007. He’s available at 10/1 (11.0).

Mauricio Pochettino (14/1) and Arsene Wenger (20/1) are also listed but neither seem likely to be serious candidates for this particular high-profile role.
