The 24-year-old looks set to complete his switch from Real Madrid and could rival Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku in the top-flight scoring charts

With Diego Costa seemingly on his way out of Chelsea, Antonio Conte has already moved to reinfoce his striking options by agreeing a deal for Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

Having been on the fringes at the Bernabeu but clearly capable of competing at the top level, it appears to be a transfer that suits all parties with just personal terms still to be agreed.

The Spain international hit 15 leaguue goals for Zinedine Zidane's side last season but made just 14 starts where as he is likely to be assured of first team football at Stamford Bridge, something he must be craving having struggled to establish himself elsewhere in recent years.

Prior to that, Morata was part of the Juventus squad that finished runners up to Barcelona in the 2015 Champions League final, netting his sides' only goal but he scored just 15 Serie A goals in two seasons for the Old Lady, making 27 league starts during his time in Turin.

It had been expected that Romelu Lukaku would return to the club from Everton this summer, but the Belgian chose Manchester United instead and he's now 4/1 (5.0) with dabblebet for the Premier League top goalscorer award, only behind last season's winner Harry Kane who is 11/4 (3.75).

Morata isn't far behind the frontrunners, but at 8/1 (9.0) he clearly has more of a job to convince the bookmakers of his credentials in the upcoming campaign.

Costa is still listed as a 7/1 (8.0) chance in the market but it would seemingly take a remarkable turnaround for the Spain international to remain at Stamford Bridge after being told he was not part of Conte's plans going forward.

It's expected that the 28-year-old will return to Atletico Madrid, despite the La Liga club not being able to register any new players until January due to an ongoing transfer ban.

Chelsea are 10/3 (4.33) joint second favourites to defend their Premier League title, level with Manchester United but behind leaders Manchester City, who are 15/8 (2.88) to secure another top flight victory.

The Blues are 10/11 (1.91) to be the top London club though, ahead of Tottenham who are available at 11/5 (3.20) ahead of their move to Wembley.

Arsenal are a 14/5 (3.80) chance in the same market with Arsene Wenger’s men having to contend with the Europa League which has proved a stumbling block for top sides’ title ambitions in recent seasons.
