Barcelona vs Real Sociedad: TV channel, live stream, squad news & preview

Barcelona are looking to bounce back from a shock 5-4 defeat to Levante as they host Real Sociedad at Camp Nou on Sunday.

Having already been crowned Liga champions, Ernesto Valverde's side looked set to end the 2017-18 campaign without defeat.

They would fall at the 37th hurdle, though, putting a slight blemish on what has otherwise been a remarkable season for the Catalan club.

Barcelona were supposed to end the season unbeaten.

Going into their away tie against Levante, Valverde had guided his team to 27 wins from 36 fixtures and his side had been subsequently crowned champions of Spain.

"We were excited by the prospect of finishing the season unbeaten," Andres Iniesta said following the 5-4 defeat. "It's not the most important thing this season. It just wasn't to be."

It's difficult to understand just how the team failed so spectacularly against Levante, especially with the season so close to an end, although the veteran believes tension got to the players.

“Above all, it was the tension and lack of organisation. This was especially clear at the beginning of the second half."

The loss was especially painful for Iniesta, who leaves Barcelona after this fixture following 22 years at the club.

Another player saying goodbye to his team is Prieto, who has racked up 375 league games for Real Sociedad across 18 years of service.

The chances of a farewell victory are unlikely for the 34-year-old, however, as no home team have beaten Sociedad more times in La Liga than Barcelona, winning 60 of the 70 times they have met at Camp Nou.

In fact, Sociedad have only won three of those 70 encounters, with their last victory at Barca coming in 1991.

Lionel Messi, who has scored 10 goals in his nine games versus Sociedad at Camp Nou, will officially become the Liga top scorer for the fifth season in his career in what has been a campaign to remember for Barcelona.
