Swansea City attacker Jordan Ayew has set his sights on helping the club beat the relegation drop in the English Premier League.

The Ghanaian joined the Jack Army from Aston Villa in January, but his presence has not done much to change the outfit's struggles in the topflight.

Paul Clement's men currently sit 17th on the table, just one place above the relegation zone.

“I have not played so much yet, but the most important thing is that the team win,” Ayew told Jack Magazine.

“If we win games, we will still be in the Premier League next season.

“And if that happens, I will be the happiest person in the world."

Ayew was first drafted into the Premier League by Aston Villa, who signed him from French club Lorient in 2015.

His seven league goals in his first season, though, could not save the Claret and Blue Army from dropping down one tier to the Championship last season.

“I have always watched the Premier League," Ayew said.

"When I was growing up in Ghana, it was always my dream to play here.

“I got the opportunity with Villa. It didn’t work out really well for the team but I think it was okay for me, although you don’t see that when the team go down. It’s hard to enjoy it.

“But I always tried to do my best, that’s the truth, and I hope people could see that.

"Maybe that’s why I was given the opportunity to come to Swansea."

Ayew has so far made five league outings involving one start for Swansea.
