Akwa United assistant coach Aliyu Zubairu has disclosed that his side are in dire need of the maximum points as they battle Kwara United.
Rabiu Ali's first-half solitary effort for Ibrahim Musa's side was all that saw the Promise Keepers bowed to their sixth defeat in 17 outings this season at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
Following their third loss in five successive games, the gaffer is confident they will return to winning ways but admits wary of the potential threat.
"This is an important match for us and we need nothing short of victory against Kwara United," Zubairu told Goal.
"It was sad we lost in our last match to Kano Pillars. We ought to have gotten something from the game but I believed that was destined to happen.
"We have had enough time to prepare and I can say we're fully ready for them and will not take chances this time. We need to start winning games if we want to challenge for anything this season and finish in the top three.
"It will definitely not be easy beating the defending champions who also have ambitions too but we cannot afford another slip at home. At the moment, we are well motivated to go all out to win and make our fans proud."
