Speaking in the AFC U-16 Championship pre-tournament group press conference on Wednesday, Tajikistan U-16 head coach Zaynidin Rakhimov admitted that his coaching staff know next to nothing about their first opponents; hosts Malaysia U-16.

"We have no information regarding Malaysia, although we do know about Japan (also in Group A, alongside Tajikistan, Malaysia and Thailand).

"However, thanks to our football federation, we have prepared for the tournament by taking part in three tournaments this year; two in Kazakhstan and one in Serbia.

"Of course every coach wants to win, but we want good football from both teams (in the opening match)," said Rakhimov through an interpreter.

The Malaysia vs Tajikistan match will be held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Thursday, with kick-off at 4.30pm Malaysian time. Tickets for matches involving Malaysia are priced from RM10 (around USD2.5).
