Aduana Stars captain Emmanuel 'Obubulebu' Akuoko has revealed how FA Cup champions Asante Kotoko attempted to bring him to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium two seasons ago and wanted to make him one of the starters in their line-up.

The 26-year-old, who played a major role in Aduana's success story last season as they won their second title, says club owner Oseadeayo Nana Agyemang Badu II advised him against a move away from Aduana.

"I had a big offer from Kotoko two seasons ago but Aduana owner told me that he would offer me more than what they were willing to give, so I should stay and help the club achieve success,” Akuoko told Otec FM.

"In fact, Nana Agyeman Badu II is like a father to the players of Aduana. He provides everything we need and our bonuses are bigger than any club in the country. He has helped some of us to succeed in life, so how we can we abandon him and his club?

"I pray to God always to grant him long life and good health to continue the good deeds to help the club win more laurels. I think it would've been a mistake to leave when the offers came,” he added.

Aduana will represent Ghana in the Caf Champions League next season while Kotoko participate in the Caf Confederations Cup.
