Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah says he will leave Torino ahead of the new campaign after three seasons in Italy, although his contract runs until June 2019.

The 25-year-old arrived at Stadio Olimpico from Sampdoria in 2015, making 20 Serie A appearances last season and scoring twice as the club finished ninth.

Acquah has been linked with moves to Premier League returnees Brighton and Hove Albion, according to reports.

“It is very likely that I will be moving to England next season,” Acquah told FMG.

“It is 90 per cent complete but we are still holding talks about it. Once we finish everything, I am sure an announcement will be made.

“It has been a dream of mine to play in England and I am very close to achieving this after a long time,” he added.

Should the deal materialise, Acquah, who was previously linked with Chelsea and Arsenal, would become the fifth Ghanaian player aside the Ayew brothers, Daniel Amartey and Jeffrey Schlupp, currently in the English top-flight.
