AFC Champions League 2018: Goal's Player of the Week - Sydney FC's Adrian Mierzejewski

The 31-year-old stamped his authority in Sydney FC's win over Suwon Bluewings....

Faced with a must-win game, Sydney FC came up with a sensational away performance in South Korea to defeat Suwon Bluewings 4-1 this week.  

They kept alive their chances of qualifying for the next round, thanks to their 31-year-old midfielder Adrian Mierzejewski. 

The Polish midfielder had a brilliant game on the night. Sydney took the lead in the 23rd minute through Milos Ninkovic who ghosted in behind the defenders and chipped a delightful ball from Mierzejewski over the goalkeeper. He would go on to score a goal in the 79th minute besides from providing another assist.

He scored a goal, clocked two assists, created three chances for his teammates and also sent in four crosses for his teammates in what was an exceptional display. 

Ultimately, Merzekewski's sensational performance sees him named as this week's Goal's Asian Player of the Week!
