Abud Omar suspended for Kenya's next Afcon qualifying assignment

Goal Kenya.
Harambee Stars are now top of Group F with seven points ahead of Ethiopia, who have four while Ghana's Black Stars are on three

Abud Omar’s contribution for Harambee Stars in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations qualifier could as well be over should Fifa hold on to Sierra Leone’s suspension.

Omar is set to miss Kenya’s next match on November 16 against suspended Sierra Leone. Should Fifa fail to lift the ban on Sierra Leone before the next game, then Omar's ban will be carried forward to the next game against Ghana.

The Harambee Stars defender picked a second yellow card in a 3-0 victory against Ethiopia on Sunday.

The suspension, however, is not a major concern for Coach Sebastien Migne, who cemented his lead in the Group F after a comprehensive victory over Ethiopia.

Meanwhile, Migne will also have to worry about the fitness level of Captain Victor Wanyama. Wanyama, who was on the mark in Kenya’s 3-0 win, had to be pulled out late in the in the second half after he picked a hamstring injury.

Kenya are now top of the Group with seven points ahead of Ethiopia (4) while Ghana has three points.
