Abalora insists he deserves a call up in Appiah's rebuilding process

Azam FC goalkeeper Razak Abalora believes Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah should consider him as an option as he prepares a relatively new team for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The 20-year-old has been in splendid form for Azam in the Tanzanian Premier League, keeping eight clean sheets so far in 10 appearances.

Maritzburg United goalkeeper Richard Ofori is currently the first choice for the Black Stars, with Aduana's Joseph Addo and France-based Lawrence Ati-Zigi deputising him.

''I think I deserve a call-up to the Black Stars. I have kept eight clean sheets in the ten league games so far here in Tanzania," Abalora was quoted as saying by Footballmadeinghana.

"In spite of saving goals, I have also scored two goals for my club and I've become one of the fans' favourite here in Tanzania," he added.

Abalora who joined Azam from Wafa in July, also believe there are no differences between Ghana Premier League and the Tanzanian top-flight.

''Personally, I think the Ghana Premier League and the Tanzanian league are almost the same. They're both very difficult to participate in. So I don’t see any differences between them,'' he said.
