A-League transfer news: Melbourne City snap up trio

Melbourne City have started the week with a bang confirming the signings of Lachlan Wales and Anthony Caceres, while also locking in Osama Malik for another season.

Wales joins City after a breakout A-League season at the Central Coast Mariners, with the 20-year-old midfielder deciding a move to Melbourne was best for his future.

Caceres on the other hand, returns for a second stint with City after securing another season on loan from parent club Manchester City.

The 25-year-old midfielder spent last season with Al-Wasl in the UAE Pro League but was part of City's FFA Cup winning side of 2016.

Last but not least, Malik will play a third season for City after signing on for another year.

The trio of signings come just a week after the club parted ways with Marcin Budziński and Oliver Bozanic

City are expected to start their pre-season next week with Warren Joyce clearly keen on locking down the majority of his squad before then.

Teenage sensation Daniel Arzani is still contracted to the club, but transfer interest in the Socceroo is peaking as a result of his exploits at the World Cup.
