UD Leiria's players rescind contracts over unpaid wages

The players have decided to leave the relegation-threatened club after failing to receive their wages for the last three months
Portuguese Liga side UD Leiria's players have announced that they have terminated their contracts with the club.

The entirety of the squad want three months worth of unpaid salary and met with Leiria's board on Friday morning to discuss the situation.

However, the club's proposal to pay the outstanding fees was deemed insufficient by the players, who have rescinded their contracts.
This means that Sunday's league match against Feirense will not go ahead as planned, with the club's other two games in the tournament also in doubt.

Leiria are at the foot of the Portuguese Liga table, with 19 points from 27 matches.
