Terengganu head coach Irfan Bakti Abu Salim has said that he is close to deciding on the Premier League side's first eleven for the 2017 season.
When met by the press after his team's pre-season friendly against 2016 Malaysia Cup champions Kedah at the UKM Mini Stadium on Monday, Irfan said that although he has not made up his mind yet, he has an idea of it already.
"Not yet (decided). But nevertheless I already have an idea of who will be in my first eleven," he said.
He also revealed that he has finalised his foreign signings, and will likely start fielding them in Terengganu's next friendly.
"God willing, I will field my foreign players in the next match.
"A (foreign) striker just arrived today, but I made him sit out this match so he could get acclimatised, and used to my gameplan first.
"I have all the foreign players I need already, I just haven't fielded them," explained the former Felda United head coach.
The match against Kedah ended in a 1-1 draw, after Terengganu conceded a last-minute penalty that was then converted by Sandro da Silva Mendonça.
But the result did not concern the 65 year-old coach, who said he was only focused on seeing his men's commitment.
"To me, the result does not matter much. What is most important is the commitment shown by the players I fielded, as we'll (next) be playing three friendlies in late afternoon," said Irfan.
For their Klang Valley pre-season tour, the Turtles will next take on Selangor on January 11, and UKM FC on the following day.
